Overview of Mission and Goals End Childhood Hunger was organized to provide direct support, material resources,
organizational development, services and information to emerging, niche, and
grassroots hunger organizations that are having a direct impact on the issue of
childhood hunger. To do so, we utilize innovative methods in
creative ways - from volunteer-led service projects and events to promotions
and training sessions to developing cause-related partnerships and joint
ventures with individuals and corporations to further our charitable and educational purposes in conformance with the provisions of
Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Leadership
Michael Farver is a founding director and the President of End Childhood
Hunger. He has served the non-profit community for over 17 years, specifically
focusing on the the issues of hunger and poverty in the United States. He presently serves as President of the board of directors of Florida Impact, a statewide legislative public
policy advocacy organization, and helps direct the Florida Hunger Project, an initiative
funded nationally by Share Our Strength, which seeks to develop and implement a 10-Point Plan to end childhood hunger in Florida by 2015.
Michael is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Broward County
Million Meals Committee, a collaboration of over sixty public and private
agencies working on a united front to eradicate hunger in Broward County and
increase hunger awareness through, advocacy, support, understanding,
information, networking, and year-round action. Committee members and
sponsoring agencies include the Cooperative Feeding Program, the Coordinating
Council of Broward, the Children Services Council, Broward County Health
Department, Department of Children and Families, the US. Department of
Agriculture, Social Security Administration, hospitals, schools, and other
committed for-profit and non-profit Faith and Community Based organizations.
Board of Directors and National Advisory Committee
The End Childhood Hunger Board of Directors, and their National Advisory
Committee, consist of over 50 community leaders and activists from across the
United States, a majority of whom have each been involved in the hunger and
poverty movement for dozens of years, and who provide support and priceless
strategic guidance to assist the organization in contributing to the goal of
ending childhood hunger.
